Manchester United are unfortunately missing out on numerous transfer targets this summer as their negotiations for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo have begun to slow.
Over a month after the deal was first discussed, Mbeumo has yet to move to Old Trafford, a move that was once seemingly inevitable but is now dragging on.
However, the delays in the Mbeumo deal and United’s lack of sales have meant that the club have been unable to truly pursue other targets with the means to finalise a move.

As such, Viktor Gyokeres is looking likely to join Arsenal, Newcastle United are launching an offensive on Hugo Ekitike, and Galatasaray are looking to retain Victor Osimhen.
Now however, United have Russian side Zenit St Petersburg trying to muscle in and take their midfield target , Richard Rios.
It was recently reported that United were looking to the Palmeiras midfielder in a bid to strengthen the middle of the pitch.
However, The Red Devils are yet to launch a bid, with AS Roma’s £22 million bid being rejected.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Zenit St Petersburg have made a formal offer to the Brazilian side of £26 million, matching the club’s asking price.
However, Rios has reportedly rejected the Russian side, instead wanting a move to the Italian capital.
With Roma yet to match Palmeiras’ price tag of the 25-year-old, United still have time to mount an attack, however, The Red Devils will need to be quick before Roma get their man.
