Coming on loan to Wolves from Atletico Madrid for the second half of the 2022/23 season, his move to Wolverhampton was made permanent last summer with Wolves paying €50 million for the Brazilian forward.
This season it’s been clear why Wolves wanted to keep hold of the 25-year-old, with Cunha scoring fourteen goals and grabbing eight assists across 36 appearances in all competitions.
His versatility has also been utilised, with the striker also being used in attacking midfield and on the left wing.
The Brazilian has also represented his country for the Brazilian national squad, with 11 caps, but also playing for the Brazilian Olympic Squad which won Gold at the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, with the striker winning the Golden Boot in the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament with 5 goals.
According to The Mirror, Cunha was monitored closely by United scouts throughout last season, with the Red Devils ready to double his wages, currently earning £60,000 per week.
Despite this rise in wages, Cunha has come forward expressing his happiness at Wolves.
As per the Manchester Evening News, the striker spoke to Globo Esporte, saying: “My focus is on resting and making the most of my time with my family. I’m very happy at Wolves. The focus now is on having better seasons and helping the club.”
Whether the £60 million valued striker can be lured to United to support Rasmus Hojlund as another attacking option remains to be seen.
