West Bromwich Albion are looking to their new Championship campaign after coming ninth in the last two seasons.

Now, West Brom have recruited from the Premier League in a bid to give them a boost back into the top flight, having been relegated to the Championship in the 2020/21 season.

To give them a boost in the middle of the park, the West-midlands side have recruited Toby Collyer on a season-long loan, with the Manchester United midfielder needing more match experience to break into the senior team.

Taking to their official website, West Brom announced the arrival of Toby Collyer, commenting: “Albion have signed Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer on a season-long loan.

“The 21-year-old, who is capped by England at youth level, is available for selection when the Baggies travel to Wrexham in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday (ko 12.30pm).”

Discussing their recent signing, West Brom Sporting Director Andrew Nestor commented: “Toby is a dynamic midfielder who we rate highly and believe that his strengths will complement our already strong midfield options.

“He is an ideal central midfielder for our playing model with his physical attributes, progressive play and passing ability, and has the capability to make a real impression this season.”

Speaking for the first time as a Baggie, Collyer said: “I spoke with the gaffer Ryan Mason and I got a really good first impression from him.

“Albion seems like the right place and the right environment for me and I’m hoping to play as much as possible.

“This is a great opportunity for me to help the team and take my game to the next level, which I’m really excited about.”
