Viktor Gyokeres has established himself as one of the key strikers to fight for this summer transfer window, with the Sweden international having a truly phenomenal season.
In 48 games, Gyokeres has grabbed 52 goals and 12 assists, and that’s not to mention his nine goals and four assists in six games for Sweden.
The Scandinavian striker has been a driving force for Sporting Lisbon’s continued run in the Taca de Portugal and for holding the lead in the Liga Portugal for the majority of the season.
However, Gyokeres is now looking for a new challenge after Ruben Amorim left the club to join Manchester United in November.
Gyokeres thrived under Amorim’s management in the Portuguese capital, with the manager helping to unlock the striker’s potential.
As such, United are trying to lean on this strong relationship to sway the 26-year-old to move to Old Trafford, which has been recently described as “a done deal”.
However, with the move not over the line just yet, they’re up against Europe’s elite, including Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.
Now, Christopher Michel has reported that the key thing Gyokeres is looking for with his next club is Champions League football.

Manchester United’s condition for securing Viktor Gyokeres
United’s only chance to secure a slot in next season’s Champions League is by winning the Europa League with their first leg of the Semi-Final against Athletic Club coming in two days time.
If United can emerge victorious, they’re set to face either Tottenham Hotspur or Bodo/Glimt in the final, a fixture which is set to be a fiercely fought contest.
If United end up facing Tottenham, with their position of 16th place in the Premier League, they are in the same boat as Amorim’s men with the Europa League being their only lifeline for European football next season.
Whilst winning the Europa League isn’t out of the realms of possibility for United, given they’re the only unbeaten team in the tournament, facing Spurs could be a tricky ask.
The Red Devils have lost all three meetings with the London-based side this season, only narrowly beating Lyon in a dramatic comeback to book their slot in the Semi-Final.
However, should they face Bodo/Glimt, they’ll have a boost of confidence having already beaten them in the League Phase of the tournament.
