The future of Viktor Gyokeres could now well be sealed as the Sweden international has agreed terms to join the Premier League.
Throughout the summer, it’s been widely known that Gyokeres would be leaving the Portuguese capital after falling out with Sporting CP over a gentleman’s agreement to allow him to depart the club.
However, with several top clubs link Manchester United and Arsenal looking to the striker, the question was always where he would end up.
Earlier today, it was reported that Arsenal were in the process of completing negotiations with Sporting CP over a move for their talented striker.
Now, The Athletic has reported that The Gunners have an agreement in principle reached with the Liga Portugal champions and Gyokeres to see the striker more to The Emirates.

It’s understood the deal stands at £55 million (€63.5 million) guaranteed plus £8.6 million (€10 million) in add-ons to secure the Sweden international’s future.
To help the facilitation and speed of the deal, it’s also understood that Gyokeres’ agent has waived his fee which was an optional element of the deal, which could have held things up for all involved.
Unfortunately with Gyokeres’ move to London as good as done, it marks the first top striker that Manchester United have missed out on as Hugo Ekitike looks headed to Liverpool and Victor Osimhen is seemingly set to remain with Galatasaray.

Now, The Red Devils are set to meet with Gyokeres when the 2025/26 Premier League season begins, but not in the way Ruben Amorim would have wonted.
The Portuguese manager was looking for a reunion with former striker, however they’ll now be set to meet as United host Arsenal at Old Trafford in their opening fixture of the Premier League campaign.
