Victor Osimhen has long been a key transfer target for Manchester United.
The Nigerian forward has been on the club’s radar for multiple windows, with previous approaches falling for various reasons.
With Rasmus Hojlund enduring a difficult spell – and confidence reportedly waning inside the club, United are determined to bring in a reliable, elite-level No.9 to lead the line.
Osimhen ticks all the boxes.

After joining Galatasaray on loan late in last summer’s window, the 26-year-old has exploded in Turkey with 33 goals and 8 assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.
He’s become a fan favourite in Istanbul, but the move from Napoli was only temporary.
Galatasaray lack the financial muscle to make the deal permanent.
Meaning Osimhen’s future is once again up in the air, with United still in the mix for a statement signing.
Premier League interest is strong, and United now appear to be leading the chase.
Manchester United officials meet to pursue Victor Osimhen talks
According to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, representatives of Osimhen met with Manchester United officials today to discuss a potential move.
The striker is demanding a salary of €12 million per year, a figure that would place him among the highest earners at Old Trafford.
United are prepared to invest heavily up front this summer and see Osimhen as a realistic alternative to main target Viktor Gyökeres.
Liam Delap is also on the club’s shortlist, but Osimhen’s goal-scoring record and Premier League readiness make him a standout option.

A deal would require a total package likely exceeding €75 million, including bonuses, to satisfy Napoli.
Saudi Pro League side Neom are also in the frame, but Osimhen is said to favour a Premier League switch, with Chelsea apparently his favourable destination.
With talks already underway, Manchester United could now be in pole position to secure one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.
