Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are both using this summer transfer window as an opportunity to rebuild following disastrous Premier League seasons.

Whilst The Red Devils ended the season in 15th place, Spurs ended two places lower, on the border of the relegation zone in 17th place.

Interestingly despite their dismal Premier League performances, the pair met in the final of the Europa League final, with Tottenham winning 1-0, giving them a wildcard entry to the Champions League next season.

However, this wasn’t enough to save Ange Postecoglou’s job, with the manager being sacked by Spurs, with Brentford’s Thomas Frank being appointed as his successor.

Now, in preparation for their Champions League campaign, Tottenham have already spent £55 million on West Ham United’s Mohammed Kudus and a reported £60 million on Morgan Gibbs-White, although the latter is held up with legal disputes.

However, despite this £115 million in spending already, Frank isn’t stopping, with Give Me Sport reporting he’s now looking to Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho as their next potential signing.

The Argentina international has been told he has no place in Ruben Amorim’s squad at Old Trafford after undermining the coach in an interview following the Europa League final.

Following the interview, Amorim told Garnacho in training that he needs to find himself a new club, ending the winger’s United career.

Since returning to pre-season training at Carrington, Garnacho has been completing individual training away from the rest of the squad, linking up with other United reject Marcus Rashford.

However, where as Rashford is on the brink of moving to Barcelona on a loan deal with option to buy, few people are knocking in Garnacho’s door.

The winger has expressed a desire to remain in the Premier League, with Aston Villa and Chelsea linked at various times, with The Blues reportedly still interested, although nothing has materialised as of yet.

As such, Spurs are looking to potentially pounce on the opportunity of Garnacho’s price tag having been reduced from £70 million to £40 million.

This drop shows how determined United are to sell their youngster, and given that his offloading is born from his attitude with Ruben Amorim as opposed to his ability, this could be a bargain signing for any top club.
