Manchester United’s rough start under Ruben Amorim has underlined the scale of the challenge he faces in turning the club’s fortunes around.

The new INEOS-led sporting structure will be responsible for equipping Amorim with the resources needed to improve United’s underperforming squad.

Only a select few players from the first team are considered safe.

Major departures are expected at United under the new regime.

One player in particular has grown to be seen as a huge part of United’s long-term plans.

However, there seems a chance that player may well leave the club in the near future.

According to The Times, PSG have shifted their focus from United’s Marcus Rashford to his teammate Alejandro Garnacho.

Despite their interest, PSG have yet to make an official bid for the 20-year-old Argentine winger.

Leaving it unclear if they plan to open talks during the January transfer window.

Atletico Madrid are also monitoring Garnacho’s situation but are unlikely to make a move this month as they prioritise strengthening other areas of their squad.

United have insisted that they are not actively pushing Garnacho to leave.

However, financial pressures due to Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) have made selling young talents like Garnacho a possibility.

The sales of higher earners such as Rashford and Casemiro could provide United with financial flexibility needed to retain Garnacho beyond January.

Garnacho has struggled to cement a regular spot under Ruben Amorim.

While staying at Old Trafford may benefit his development, PSG’s potential offer could be hard to ignore.

The Ligue 1 giants are perennial title winner.

They aim to bolster their Champions League ambitions by replacing Kylian Mbappe.

PSG reportedly view Garnacho as a potential long-term successor to the French superstar.

Amorim has shown no hesitation in making bold squad decisions, leading many to believe that a January sale for Garnacho is not out of the question.
