Last season saw former Manchester United winger Wilfried Zaha move to Galatasaray on a free transfer when his contract at Crystal Palace ran out.
The Ivorian winger came through the Palace academy in 2010 before joining United in 2013. Unfortunately, Zaha only made four appearances for the club, spending most of his time at Old Trafford out on loan. With loan deals to former club Crystal Palace on two occasions with a spell ad Cardiff City in between, Zaha ultimately ended up back at Palace permanently, at a financial loss for United.
The Red Devils signed the then 20-year-old for €11.75 million, however two years later, he returned to Palace for a mere €3.8 million, making an €8 million loss for United.

The move was right for Zaha though, with the winger making a real name for himself at Selhurst Park, grabbing 90 goals and 62 assists in 458 games.
However, last year saw Zaha achieve his career target of playing in the Champions League by joining Galatasaray. Unfortunately for the 31-year-old, he’s now fallen out of favour with manager Okan Buruk.
Crystal Palace were joined by Leicester in discussing possible season-long loans for the star, however this ultimately fell through.
Now, Standard Sport have revealed that Zaha is unlikely to return to English football due to the tax rules in the UK. If anyone has left the UK to work abroad for five or less years and then return to the UK to work, they are liable to pay income tax in both countries. As a result, a loan move to his old club would see Zaha having to pay income tax in the UK and Turkey.
