Manchester United’s goalkeeping situation is in a state of flux ahead of the new season.

Doubts remain over both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.

Onana’s inconsistent campaign, coupled with a fresh hamstring injury picked up during pre-season, has left concerns about whether he’s the long-term answer between the posts.

Meanwhile, Bayindir – who made just ten appearances last season – is understood to be frustrated by his lack of game time, with talks over his future being discussed.

With uncertainty hanging over both senior options, United’s coaching staff have been forced to assess alternatives.

One name now attracting attention both internally and externally is one currently with the Red Devils – Radek Vitek.

According to Oberosterreichische Nachrichten, relayed by Laola1, Austrian champions Sturm Graz have identified Vítek as a new target this summer following a long-term injury to their No.1, Daniil Khudyakov.

The 21-year-old Czech stopper spent last season on loan at Austrian side FC Blau-Weiß Linz.

He kept seven clean sheets in 27 games and saved nearly 70% of the shots he faced.

His promising displays in Austria appear to have convinced Sturm Graz to pursue him.

However, United have yet to make a final decision on whether he’ll stay, leave on loan, or depart permanently.

Vítek – who is set to start United’s opening pre-season game in the USA – is under contract at Old Trafford until 2027, and remains highly rated within the club.

However, Sturm Graz’s move hinges on what Ruben Amorim and his staff decide.

As of now, that’s left the Austrian side unable to proceed further.

United remain interested in Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, having recently advanced in talks.

Therefore, a loan move for Vitek may pose as the sensible option, in order to gain experience and come back at United as the long-term option between the sticks.
