Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Dan Ashworth highlighted a combined list of nine players earlier this summer to sell on, generating more funds for the club. The combined list consisted of Victor Lindelöf, Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Christian Eriksen, Casemiro, Scott McTominay, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood.

So far, two of the nine have already been sold, with Wan-Bissaka recently joining West Ham United and Mason Greenwood having moved to Marseille earlier this summer.

Of the remaining seven, we know there have been strong links with Sancho and PSG, with the winger keen to move to the French capital.

Lindelöf has been receiving interest from Saudi Arabia and Italy, with Saudi clubs also looking to Casemiro.

However, the biggest amount of interest however comes for Scott McTominay, with six different clubs looking to the midfielder this summer.

Now, one of the Italian giants are now really focusing on the singing the midfielder with a trip to England.

Napoli’s ongoing pursuit of Scott McTominay

Corriere dello Sport have recently reported that Napoli’s desire to sign McTominay has only strengthened from their failure of signing Marco Brescianini from Frosinone Calcio.

Napoli have recently submitted an loan offer for McTominay, however Untied rejected the deal, with the Red Devils needing to extend the Scotland international’s contract to agree the deal.

Dan Ashworth is holding firm with his €30 million valuation of the midfielder, with no club yet matching the asking price.

It’s been reported however that Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna is currently in London holding discussions around several Premier League deals. It’s understood that Manna “will be talking” to United over the coming days regarding a deal for McTominay.

Unfortunately it’s unexpected that Napoli will agree to the €30 million price tag to bring the 27-year-old to Serie A. However, with Manna in England for discussions, this marks a massive intention from the Italian club to sign McTominay this summer.
