One of the main topics of discussion during the 2025–26 transfer window has been Manchester United’s goalkeeping predicament, as Ruben Amorim weighs his choices before a lengthy campaign.
Even if the Red Devils have made significant investments in attacking reinforcements, the struggle between the posts is still as important as their efforts to increase defensive stability.
The attacking signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have improved the Red Devil’s attack.
But a goalkeeper is still very much needed.
In yesterday’s match against Burnley, Altay Bayindir committed yet another error and cost the Red Devils a goal against Arsenal.
The player who has come the closest to joining the Red Devils is Senne Lammens.
Although the Belgian goalie is eager to join, United and Royal Antwerp still need to agree on a fee.
And now it seems a breakthrough could be reached soon.

According to the Telegraph, Manchester United have made an improved offer to Senne Lammens and are determined to add a goalkeeper to Ruben Amorim’s squad before the summer transfer window closes on Monday.
Personal terms were not agreed with Lammens, 23, during talks earlier in the week and he also received proposals from Turkish club Galatasaray – but United have returned with a further offer.
With two days of the transfer window remaining, Lammens would take a medical immediately if he agreed to United’s terms, with his club Royal Antwerp accepting he will leave this window for upwards of £20m.
The Red Devils also made contact with Aston Villa over a move for Emiliano Martinez as a backup.
A move for Lammens is still considered more likely given personal terms being agreed.
This new improved bid for the Belgian could be the key to breaking the deal and letting Ruben Amorim get his man.
