Whilst Victor Osimhen is not heading to Old Trafford this summer, the Manchester United target could be heading for the Saudi Pro League.

In a major turn of events, it’s now come out that Victor Osimhen is not a part of Manchester United’s plans to rebuild the squad this summer.

Ruben Amorim is desperate to land a reliable striker to head up his attack next season as the club look to bounce back from their worst Premier League run to date.

With the Portuguese manager looking to retain Joshua Zirkzee, believing he can fit into the system well, United’s recruitment team have been looking for top in-form strikers to move to Old Trafford as a new first-choice striker.

As such, with 30 goals and seven assists in 35 games, United shortlisted Victor Osimhen as a potential summer signing.

Recent reports have claimed that United are close to agreeing personal terms with the Nigerian striker, whilst others have expressed that The Red Devils are hopeful of agreeing terms with Napoli over a transfer fee.

Whilst Osimhen’s release clause stands at £62.5 million, United have reportedly been looking to table a £40 million bid to secure the star, or so it seemed.

Now, David Ornstein has revealed that this isn’t the case and United aren’t pursuing the striker, instead favouring Liam Delap as their top choice to replace Rasmus Hojlund as their lead striker.

Ben Jacobs has now seconded this report, adding that the Saudi Pro League are leading the race for Osimhen’s signature.

It’s understood that last year Victor Osimhen was closing in on a move to Al-Ahli before joining Galatasaray on loan.

Now Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Qadsiah and NEOM SC have all been in contact with the striker, whilst the decision of which team he’d join will be made centrally for the league’s best fit.
