Ruben Amorim is one of the most exciting young managers in European football, so it’s no surprise that his move to Manchester United is creating a massive buzz.

In his four years at Sporting Lisbon, Amorim has won five trophies and The Red Devils are no doubt hoping he win more at Old Trafford.

It’s been officially confirmed now that the Portuguese manager will be joining United on the 11th November at the start of the next international break.

With his appointment comes a new wave of excitement for the next era at Manchester United.

Already it looks like United could have a great advantage in luring Viktor Gyokeres to follow Amorim to Old Trafford from Sporting.

The striker is one of the top goalscorers in Europe right now, scoring 41 goals in 2024 including 16 goals and four assists in 15 matches this season.

However, Amorim’s appointment may have helped United to take an advantage over Premier League rivals to sign one of their long-term targets.

Recent news has emerged that both Manchester United and Liverpool are looking to sign Wolves’ Rayan Ait-Nouri in January. United are looking to find a left-back to be a long-term replacement for Luke Shaw, helping them overcome their current injury woes, whilst Liverpool are now looking to replace Andrew Robinson who appears to be on the decline.

However, this isn’t the first time either club has been interested in the Algeria international.

Over the summer during Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s first transfer window of his rebuild project, Ait-Nouri was considered as a strong signing to remodel the defence.

However, nothing materialised and Ait-Nouri remained with Wolves who are currently sitting in the relegation zone in 19th place.

As such, with the potential Ait-Nouri holds, it’s understood that both clubs are looking to make moves for him in the winter transfer window.

It’s been reported by GiveMeSport that Amorim wants to make the 23-year-old the first signing of his tenure at Old Trafford.

It’s understood that Amorim’s priority in the first transfer window is to sign a left-wing-back to fit his style of play.

Rayan Ait-Nouri has a £60 million price tag on him by Wolves as Gary O’Neil still sees the defender as essential to his plans.
