With the transfer window nearing its final hours, speculation around player movements, particularly involving young talents, has dominated headlines and social media discussions among supporters.

The Portuguese manager was clear about his intentions, insisting that the 20-year-old must remain and fight for his place in the squad.

Amorim said: “Until it’s official, I cannot say much.

“I want Kobbie to stay. He needs to fight for his place, and we need Kobbie.

“So that is not going to change. The rest I don’t know how it’s going to finish.

“I understand that the players that are not playing in this moment are disappointed.

“But everyone will have the same opportunity to play. You have to fight during the week.”

The comments come amid a reports that Mainoo is open to leaving the club on loan.

United, however, remain firm on keeping him, valuing his potential and long-term contribution to the squad.

Mainoo has seen limited playing time, starting only 15 matches under Amorim, but remains a key part of the club’s plans for the future.

The press conference highlighted the manager’s belief in nurturing young talent while maintaining a competitive first-team environment.

With the Red Devils desperate for their first win of the 2025/26 season, the emphasis on unity, fighting for places, and retaining promising players like Kobbie Mainoo will be crucial as they look to stabilize under Amorim’s leadership.
