Rochdale are looking ahead to their third season in the National League after being relegated from League Two at the bottom of the table in the 2022/23 season.
Last year, The Dale came close to promotion, finishing fourth overall in the league, granting them access to the promotion play-offs.
Unfortunately however, Rochdale failed at the first hurdle, losing 4-3 in extra time to Southend United who went on to beat Forest Green in the Semi-Finals before losing to Oldham Athletic 3-2 in extra time in the final.
Now, the National League side have turned their attention to recently released Manchester United goalkeeper Tom Myles to bring some reassurance between the sticks.
Myles joined Manchester United at the age of six and after graduating from the academy last summer, had already have valuable loan spells with Runcorn Linnets and Leek Town FC.
However, at the end of the season, Myles found himself in the list of players released by The Red Devils at the end of their contracts.
Instantly bouncing back though, the 19-year-old found himself a trial with Rochdale, with the National League side wanting to take him on.
Now, taking to their official website, Rochdale announced: “Rochdale Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Tom Myles on an initial one-year deal.”
