Real Betis are planning another swoop for a Manchester United star after securing Antony on loan this January.
Antony faded into the shadows in recent time, with limiting game time for the Brazilian. The winger has only made 14 appearances for United this season, averaging at 29 minutes per game.
Since arriving at United in 2022, Antony has failed to live up to his £81 million transfer fee, and now with United’s financial struggles, the club are looking to cash out on the star.
The loan move for Antony can be a chance to kickstart his career once more, either to slot back into Ruben Amorim’s squad, or to move on elsewhere in the summer.
As such, The Red Devils have included a clause in his contract that Betis will need to pay a penalty fee if he doesn’t receive sufficient time on the pitch.
However, this clause doesn’t appear to have put Real Betis off, with the LaLiga side once more looking to Manchester United for further reinforcement.
The Spanish side are currently 10th in LaLiga, only two points off of sixth place Mallorca.
Now, The Daily Mail have reported that Betis are looking to another forgotten star in the form of Tyrell Malacia.
The LaLiga team are looking to the left-back for a loan deal, with the 25-year-old set to fall further down the pecking order with Patrick Dorgu set to move to Old Trafford any day.
It’s understood that Betis are keen to get a deal across the line by the end of the week, with transfer deadline day on 3rd February 2025.
Malacia has been out of action for over a year with a knee injury, returning to the squad in November.
Since then the defender has only made eight appearances, trying to adjust to Amorim’s left-wing-back role.
Unfortunately the star is yet to establish himself as a real option for Amorim to rely on, leading to the club considering a loan deal for the star this January.
With Real Betis and United having benefited from positive negotiations for Antony, the Spanish club are hoping they can get yet another successful result with The Red Devils.
