Manchester United fans have been closely monitoring the transfer market as the summer window reaches its climax.

Following a dramatic early-season start, including a shocking Carabao Cup exit to League Two side Grimsby Town, scrutiny on squad depth and player futures has intensified.

Ruben Amorim continues to juggle injury concerns, with Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui nearing full fitness, while other key players remain unavailable.

Off the pitch, Manchester United have been engaged in negotiations regarding several fringe stars, with multiple clubs showing interest in reshaping their squads.

One of the most high-profile cases has been Antony, whose future at Old Trafford has been the subject of speculation for months.

Real Betis has been steadily pursuing the Brazilian throughout the summer, with Antony fully committed to a return to the Spanish club.

Despite official offers from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, as well as softer inquiries from Spain, the Premier League, and Italy, none have swayed the 25-year-old from his aim of rejoining Betis.

Negotiations intensified this past week, when Ramon Alarcon, CEO Manu Fajardo, and technical secretary Alvaro Ladron de Guevara held talks with United representatives in Manchester.

Over the last few hours, an agreement in principle has been reached between the clubs, with Antony set to return to La Palmera.

The deal involves a shared ownership structure, with Manchester United retaining 50% of the federation rights, and an investment exceeding €20 million between fixed and variable amounts, as per Diario de Sevilla.

The Brazilian will also take a salary reduction in his first season to fit within Betis’ financial limits, with gradual increases aligned to sporting objectives such as Champions League participation.

Additionally, in the event of a future sale, Antony will retain a small percentage to compensate for the initial salary adjustment.

While final signatures and official announcements are pending, sources confirm that the resolution is very close, marking the first major outgoing transfer of United’s summer window.

The deal highlights both Antony’s determination to return to Spain and Betis’ commitment to securing a player who made a significant impact during his previous spell.
