Rasmus Hojlund is looking increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford this summer as the Denmark international has failed to establish himself as a consistent goalscorer with Manchester United.

Last season, during his 21-game goal drought, Ruben Amorim and his coaches feared that not only was he not a good fit for the club, but also that his struggling performances would mean that few other clubs would be interested in signing the striker.

However, thanks to his stint at Atalanta, Serie A sides still hold him in high regard.

As such, Hojlund has already been linked with Juventus, Napoli, Inter Milan and Roma, with all four keen on taking the striker next season.

However, Valentin Feuillette of Foot Mercato has now reported that the former Atalanta striker now has further interest from Italy including from his former club.

Atalanta are looking at offering Hojlund a lifeline with a return to the side two years after he left for £72 million.

During his year with Atalanta, Rasmus Hojlund recorded 10 goals and four assists in 34 games, drawing the attention of Erik ten Hag.

However, his former side aren’t the only new interested party, with Lazio also joining the list of potential suitors after the 22-year-old’s signature.

It’s understood that the Italian clubs are looking towards a loan deal as opposed to a permanent transfer, with the main issue currently being around his salary.

However, with United now prioritising the signing of a new striker, reportedly dependant on Hojlund’s departure, a deal could very well be up for discussion.
