Manchester United are keen to completely remodel their attack this summer, with Rasmus Hojlund likely to depart the club, making way for Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha.

The pair have been highlighted as United’s primary targets for the striker and No.10 roles, with Joshua Zirkzee also having Ruben Amorim’s confidence to remain at Old Trafford.

However, the same can’t be said for Hojlund who The Red Devils are determined to sell to create space in the squad and generate funds to support with further signings.

Whilst United reportedly have the funds to trigger the combined £92.5 million in Cunha and Delap’s release clauses, any other signings, like a new goalkeeper, would need more funds.

That said, a new report from The Sun has indicated that a player swap could be on the cards.

Rasmus Hojlund to return to Atalanta

Hojlund joined United from Atalanta in 2023, and since then the Serie A side have reportedly continued to be in contact with the striker’s representatives.

The Denmark international left the Italian club on good terms, with Atalanta’s scouts having watched his recent matches amid the possibility of a return to his former club.

However, in an added element to the deal, United could see Ademola Lookman move to Old Trafford in a player-plus-cash deal.

Lookman has experience of the Premier League, having previously played for Fulham, Everton and Leicester, with 96 Premier League appearances across five seasons, scoring 11 goals with six assists.

Now, the Nigeria international is keen to return to England with United having monitored the striker when considering summer targets.

However, with the deal for Cunha as good as across the line, and their focus solely on Delap as a summer striker for the time being, we’ll have to wait to see if a Hojlund for Lookman deal materialises.
