Manchester United are keen to support the development of their younger players, however it seems best for them, whether that be remaining with the squad or going out on loan for more first-team football.

Already this summer, talented young goalkeeper Elyh Harrison has gone out on loan to Shrewsbury Town for the season to gain more match experience, with the club hoping to line up a similar move for Radek Vitek.

The 21-year-old goalkeeper spent last season in Austria with Blau Weiss Linz, helping the side achieve sixth place in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Throughout the season, Vitek made 28 appearances, grabbing seven clean sheets and only conceding 37 goals, attracting attention for his impressive potential.

Upon his return to Old Trafford, it was reported that the Czech Republic Under-20s keeper would be given a shot to cover Andre Onana, with the first-choice keeper out with a hamstring injury.

It was understood that, with Onana’s setback, Vitek would be joining his United teammates in America to start one of their three fixtures.

However, Radek Vitek has been left in the UK to sort out a loan move whilst The Red Devils have headed Stateside for the Premier League Summer Series.

For a while it was looking like the 6ft 5in goalkeeper would be heading back to Austria for another season; however Fabrizio Romano may well have announced the end of that potential.

Austrian champions Sturm Graz were looking to Vitek as their priority target to cover currently injured first-choice keeper Daniil Khudyakov.

However, Romano’s now reported that the Austrian club are now looking to Danish keeper Oliver Christensen of Fiorentina for a loan move.

This new focus from Sturm Graz, having submitted an official loan offer shows their redirection in targets this summer, with a move for Vitek now only likely if their move for Christensen falls through.
