Premier League clubs in battle for Manchester United linked player

Several clubs are racing to sign the in-demand player.

The 2025-26 Premier League season is set to start next Saturday with its twenty teams aiming for success.

The new season will see Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland as the top flight’s newest additions following their promotion from the EFL Championship last season.

The latter – Sunderland – will be playing in the division for the first time since the 2016-17 season.

To give them the best chance of survival, the Black Cats have made ten summer signings which includes names such as Granit Xhaka and Enzo Le Fee.

Now, the Premier League side have seemingly found their next target.

According to Caught Offside, Sunderland are targeting the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The publication have also reported that the Black Cats are ready to offer a lucrative contract along with guaranteed first-team football to the striker.

Calvert-Lewin has been previously linked with a move to Manchester United with the Red Devils reported previously to be lining up a move for the Englishman.

However, United and Sunderland are not the only two clubs interested in the forward.

According to the same report that reported of Sunderland’s interest in the striker, Newcastle United and West Ham United are also interested in Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Newcastle have reportedly opened talks but have hit an standstill over the forward’s salary.

Meanwhile, indications have shown that West Ham may be willing to take a calculated gamble to bring the former Everton man to the club.

Furthermore, Aston Villa have also been linked with a move for the 28-year-old with the forward being identified as a potential replacement for Ollie Watkins should he move to Manchester United.

With several Premier League clubs interested in Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the forward could end up at any one of the clubs linked to him come the end of the summer.

Therefore, the coming days and weeks will be pivotal in telling us who takes a lead in this transfer race.
