Manchester United fans will be keeping an eye on developments in the lower leagues, where several former academy products and relatives of club legends continue to make their mark.
The Sky Bet Championship and League One have already seen an influx of talent this summer, with clubs keen to strengthen squads after a busy transfer window.
Veteran strikers with Premier League experience are especially in demand, as teams seek players capable of providing goals and leadership on and off the pitch.
Clubs like Port Vale have also been active in the market, looking for players who can make an immediate impact and guide younger teammates.
The summer window has highlighted the ongoing connections between past Premier League stars and the next generation of talent across English football.

Port Vale have now confirmed, via their website, their twelfth signing of the summer, and it comes with a familiar name.
Devante Cole, son of Manchester United legend Andy Cole, has joined the club permanently from West Bromwich Albion on an initial three-year deal.
Another ex-United striker, Wayne Rooney, has had his cousin join Barnsley, continuing a noticeable trend linked to Manchester United.
Cole made 14 appearances for the Baggies in the Championship last season after leaving Barnsley, where he scored 36 goals across three seasons.
Devante Cole boasts more than 100 career goals and has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, and Under-19 levels, while also earning a call-up to the Jamaica national team in November 2023.
First-team manager Darren Moore spoke highly of his new acquisition, saying: “We’re delighted to have secured Devante’s signature – he’s a player that had plenty of interest from various clubs but has ultimately chosen to be part of what we’re building here at Port Vale.
“He is a player with wonderful attributes, including a proven ability for scoring goals, and we’re all really pleased to have him on board.”
Cole will join his new teammates ahead of Port Vale’s Vertu Trophy Group Stage clash with Leeds United Under-21s.
His arrival is not only significant for Port Vale’s ambitions but also serves as a reminder of the lasting legacy of his father at Manchester United and in English football.
