Manchester United is at a start of flux, with no one in the senior squad safe from being sold.

Ruben Amorim has his hands tied, with no allocated funds for transfers, forcing sales to kick-start any January movement.

As such, United have now announced they are open to considering any genuine offer for any of their stars. Previously players like Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Kobbie Mainoo were deemed untouchable, however, this is no longer the case.

In fact, for stars like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, the club have more of a financial pull to sell the duo, being academy graduates.

This means that under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the pair constitute pure profit, helping to further ease financial pressures.

However, another star who would help with this end through a sale is defensive midfielder Toby Collyer.

The 21-year-old transferred from the Brighton and Hove Albion Academy in 2022, graduating through United’s academy to the senior squad this summer.

The talented youngster was tipped to get his competitive debut this season, expected to breakthrough into the squad like Mainoo did last year.

However, with the arrival of Manuel Ugarte, and Casemiro and Christian Eriksen still being used as backups, Amorim is looking less likely to give Collyer his debut just yet.

Manchester United star Toby Collyer considers a move from Old Trafford

Manchester Evening News has now reported that Collyer is open to considering Championship sides if the right deal comes up.

However, a stay in the Premier League could still be an option this month, with Leicester City considering the youngster.

Recent reports indicated that former United interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is looking to the star to boost Leicester’s midfield options as The Foxes aim to avoid relegation.

The 21-year-old needs more game time to support his ongoing development, however, it’s unclear at this time if United would prioritise a sale or a loan deal for the youngster.
