Jadon Sancho is closing in on a move to AS Roma, as the Italian side are pushing to sign the winger.
Sancho’s time of Old Trafford has been over for some time now, given his two loan spells, being exiled to Borussia Dortmund for half a season and then spending last year’s Premier League campaign with Chelsea.
Upon his return from Stamford Bridge following the breakdown of his permanent move, Sancho was included in The Red Devils’ “bomb squad” having no future at Old Trafford, being set individual training in place of re-joining the team.
Initially a move to Juventus looked on the cards, with his agent flying out to Turin to seal the deal, however nothing materialised.
Sancho was prioritising a move to Juve over the offer presented by Fenerbahce to bring him to Turkey, wanting to remain in Europe’s top five leagues.
As such, a move to Serie A with Roma fits the bill, with the Italian side already agreeing terms on a £20 million move with Manchester United.
Now, Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that the main issue for the move getting across the line is in fact Sancho’s agent.
It’s been reported that Roma are happy to cover the vast amount of Sancho’s £7.8 million per year wage, however aren’t happy with the high commissioning fee from Sancho’s camp.
This fact is now being reported as the main reason why Juventus walked away from signing the winger after they pushed hard to sign him earlier this summer, with Sancho also exceptionally keen to move to Turin.
Everything looked set for Sancho to move to The Old Lady, however the move went silent with no real reason revealed until now.
Unfortunately this could continue to be a problem for United, with the issue having already cause a breakdown with Juve and Atletico Madrid and now stalling a move to the Italian capital.
