Norwich City have officially signed one of Manchester United’s youngest and brightest talents in a bid to get back to the Premier League for the first time since the 2021-22 season.
Though the Championship side reached the playoffs once since getting relegated three seasons ago, they have finished 13th twice.
Since last being in the Premier League, the club have gone through six managers including David Wagner, Daniel Farke and former Arsenal player Jack Wilshere.
The Canaries have officially completed their signing for Zach Baumann who was looking for a move away to kickstart his career.
Taking to X, Norwich City announced: “We have completed the signing of Zach Baumann from Manchester United”
The move was announced officially on Manchester United’s club website as well, announcing: “Midfielder Zach Baumann has left Manchester United on a permanent deal to join Norwich City, subject to registration.”
The statement also added: “He now continues his journey towards a senior career game at Carrow Road, with the Canaries currently sat 11th in the Championship.
Baumann made appearances for both the U18’s and U21’s side as he looks to get more first-team minutes in fast and physical world of the Championship.
Whilst the move was officially announced on Norwich City’s official X account for the academy, it was also retweeted by the official twitter page for Norwich City FC.
Though the Championship side are not paying a fee, the deal does contain performance clauses which will mean United generate money if Baumann does well according to the BBC.
Baumann has also played for the Under-19’s for Ukraine and clearly has potential to excel after coming up through the youth ranks of Manchester United.
