Newcastle United’s bid for BenjamIn Sesko to be matched by Manchester United

Newcastle United made a club record bid for Benjamin Sesko, which Manchester United are reportedly willing to match.

Benjamin Sesko has been identified as a top target for several clubs this summer.

Arsenal tried pursuing him, but due to finances decided to opt for Viktor Gyokeres instead, however now the transfer saga is in a two-horse race between Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Manchester United have held talks with Sesko’s agents as they push for a move, however, it won’t be an easy deal at all due to the finances involved, with some talks of a possible swap deal with Rasmus Hojlund.

Reports came out from Slovenia yesterday that Sesko had chosen Newcastle, however these reports were shortly followed by a club record bid by Newcastle, which got rejected.

The significant financials in the bid led fans to believe it would be accepted, but now there have been more updates on the saga.

According to Philipp Hinze, Manchester United are ready to match Newcastle’s offer for Benjamin Sesko.

The tweet also mentions that further talks regarding Benjamin Sesko took place last night and have been continuing since this morning.

It’s understood that Sesko’s agents are still in Leipzig trying to work on the deal.

With 21 goals and six assists in 45 games last season, Sesko led the RB Leipzig front line and helped the Bundesliga team finish in seventh position.

With Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha already joining the team this summer, Manchester United is hopeful that Benjamin Sesko will be the last piece to complete their attacking puzzle and radically change their attack.
