Manchester United’s attacking rebuild under Ruben Amorim continues to take shape, with the club exploring options to sharpen their frontline ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

With Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo already added to the squad, the search for a prolific centre-forward remains top priority at Carrington.

The club’s pursuit of Benjamin Sesko has intensified, and developments elsewhere could force United’s hand sooner than expected.

Newcastle United are applying pressure in the race for the Slovenian striker, issuing a 48-hour deadline for Benjamin Sesko to respond to their offer, as per TalkSPORT.

TalkSPORT reports that the Magpies are confident of agreeing terms with RB Leipzig but are unwilling to let the situation drag deep into August.

Their latest offer — €75 million (£65 million) plus €5 million (£4.3 million) in add-ons — was rejected by Leipzig, who are standing firm on their £70m valuation and want a sell-on clause included.

Despite this, Newcastle remain hopeful and want a definitive answer from Sesko within two days.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are still firmly in the mix but have yet to submit a formal bid.

It was reported that United’s bid for Sesko is imminent.

Leipzig are said to be waiting on United’s move, especially given the Red Devils’ interest has remained consistent throughout the summer.

Sesko has reportedly informed his teammates that he expects to leave the Bundesliga club in this window, raising expectations that a deal is imminent — it’s just a matter of who seals it.

Ruben Amorim has earmarked the 22-year-old as the final piece in his revamped forward line, seeing Sesko as a long-term solution to lead the line alongside Mbeumo and Cunha.

Earlier reports claimed United were willing to offer Rasmus Hojlund in part-exchange, but the Danish striker is determined to stay and fight for his place, rejecting the proposed switch.

With Newcastle’s deadline looming and United yet to show their hand, the next 48 hours could prove decisive in shaping the Red Devils’ attacking future.
