Manchester United’s summer transfer window has been filled with speculation, with Ruben Amorim working to fine-tune his squad after a disappointing start to the new Premier League season.

The Red Devils are keeping an eye on incoming and outgoing options, balancing squad depth with the need to manage finances and potential departures.

Fans are also closely following the futures of academy graduates and recent signings, especially those who struggled for consistency in the previous campaign.

Attention has turned to the forward line, where new signings like Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo are integrating into Amorim’s system, but questions remain over players on the fringes.

Manchester United supporters are aware that their players can attract interest from across Europe, particularly when performance levels, age, and potential resale value combine to make them hot commodities in the transfer market.

One such player is Rasmus Hojlund, the 22-year-old Denmark international striker, who is now reportedly drawing attention from Serie A giants Napoli.

On Sunday, AC Milan sporting director Igli Tare publicly confirmed, via Sport Mediaset, their interest in Rasmus Hojlund, signalling that the Red Devils forward remains on the radar of top European clubs.

Initially reluctant to leave Old Trafford, Hojlund has reportedly opened up to the possibility of a move, creating an opportunity for Italian sides to make their approach.

Now, according to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli have joined the race, identifying Rasmus Hojlund as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who is sidelined with a three-month muscle injury.

The Italian champions are actively preparing a late move and negotiations are at an advanced stage for the ex-Atalanta player, seeing him as a forward who fits the profile they require.

Reports suggest Manchester United are willing to consider a loan deal valued between €5m–€6m (£4.4m–£5.3m) with a purchase option set between €35m–€40m (£30.8m–£35.3m), giving them flexibility while also potentially benefiting financially if competition between Milan and Napoli intensifies.

Napoli’s pursuit could therefore push United into negotiating a higher fee or structuring a deal that benefits the club long-term, highlighting the strategic advantage the Red Devils hold in managing Hojlund’s future.

The coming weeks are expected to reveal whether Hojlund remains in Manchester or heads back to Serie A, keeping fans and pundits glued to every development.
