Napoli are continuing to push to sign some top talent in their bid to defend their Serie A title next season.
Already the Italian champions have signed Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City on a free transfer, as well as bringing in Sam Beukema from Bologna..
Whilst Antonio Conte was looking at a potential move for Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United, their potential spots have now been filled by Noa Lang of PSV Eindhoven and Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca.
Now however, Napoli have signed another talent who’s also been lighting up Serie A in the form of Vanja Milinković-Savić.
The 28-year-old has been putting in some fantastic displays for Torino, attracting attention from Europe’s elite.
United were also keeping tabs on their former keeper in their bid to find a potential replacement for Andre Onana, however are now currently focussed on Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens.
Despite having been signed for United back in 2014 from Serbian side Vojvodina, remaining there on loan, issues with his vias to move to England meant The Red Devils had to sell the talented keeper before he’d even played a game for the club.
Now, Vanja Milinković-Savić is headed to Napoli to link up with other ex-Red Devils Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku, both of which could have been his teammates at Old Trafford.
Unveiling their new keeper, Napoli have taken to their official site, announcing: “SSC Napoli announces that it has acquired the player Vanja Milinkovic-Savic on loan with an obligation to buy from Torino FC.”
The Serbia international will now join the rest of Antonio Conte’s squad for pre-season training ahead of their title-defending campaign.
It’s understood that Milinkovic-Savic may make his club debut on 3rd August against Brest in a friendly, with his Serie A debut for Napoli on track to be against Sassuolo on the 23rd of August.
