Manchester United and Rasmus Hojlund are seemingly on the brink of parting ways as the striker has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
After two years of being the club’s first-choice striker, his lack of consistency has led the club to look elsewhere for a new star to lead their front line, turning to Benjamin Sesko.
The Slovenia international has been lighting up the Bundesliga before joining United, and after his Premier League debut on Sunday against Arsenal, is looking forward to scoring his first goal for his new club.
However, his move to Old Trafford has spelt the end of Hojlund’s run as the Denmark international wasn’t even selected to sit on the bench for the opening Premier League fixture.
The striker is seemingly being handed a lifeline to leave United and return to Serie A where he had a successful stint with Atalanta, having a whole host of Italian clubs vying for his signature.
Now, Napoli appear to be front-runners to sign Rasmus Hojlund as Manchester United highlight what they would be open to with regards to offloading their unwanted striker.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that whilst United have informed Napoli that they would be open to a loan deal, either with an option to buy or with an obligation to buy, their preference is to have the future departure lined up with an obligation to buy built into the deal.
However, the club have also expressed that it’s ultimately up to Napoli.
It’s understood that Rasmus Hojlund is of a similar mindset to his current club in wanting an obligation to buy; however, he’s insistent on this clause being included to give him security in his long-term position.
