Reports surrounding Matheus Cunha’s potential move to Manchester United this summer continue to rage on, with his expected wages now revealed.
The Brazilian forward has a release clause contained in his contract at Wolverhampton Wanderers, which was signed in February.
Cunha had looked likely to leave the Molineux in January, but Arsenal interest did not materialise into a bid.
The striker committed to the West Midlands club by signing an extension, but it was later revealed that a £60m release clause could be triggered this summer.
Manchester United are reportedly willing to meet that clause to bring the Brazilian to Old Trafford, with Cunha himself hinting at a possible move on social media.
He liked an Instagram story posted by a graphic designer on Friday night, the edited picture showing himself in a United shirt.
Wolves fans have been frustrated by Cunha’s willingness to leave the club this summer, with some accepting the striker must leave after the club’s Premier League safety was confirmed.
And today, Cunha’s potential wages at United have been revealed.
According to The Telegraph, the 26-year-old would expect to net more than £200,000 per week in wages, should a move come to fruition.
Cunha has proved crucial to Wolves this season, scoring 14 goals in the Premier League.
It is unclear if any move for the forward would impact Ruben Amorim’s desire for another striker, with links to Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, and Hugo Ekitike still circling.
An operation to sign Napoli loanee Osimhen does look unlikely, though, with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano today casting doubt over a potential switch for the Nigerian.
United are also expected to be in the market for a defender and a midfielder this summer, with Amorim keen to turn his time at United into a success.
