Matheus Cunha has found himself on Manchester United’s shortlist for the upcoming transfer windows, adding fuel to the fire that a move could already be in the pipework.
Cunha arrived in Wolverhampton in January 2023 on loan from Atletico Madrid for the remainder of the season, with Wolves making his move permanent that summer for £41 million.
Since then the striker has made 73 appearances with 24 goals and 12 assists. So far this season, Cunha looks to be on track for his most successful yet with eight goals and three assists in 16 games, only six goals off of his career-best last season.
With this in mind and the fact Wolves have only cleared the relegation zone for one fixture before falling back into the bottom three, Cunha could see himself with a new club at the end of the season to keep playing in the Premier League.
United have been linked with the 25-year-old for some time now. They considered the striker in the summer but chose Joshua Zirkzee instead.
However, Cunha has now sparked even more rumours around a move to Old Trafford thanks to a recent post on Instagram.

Matheus Cunha took to social media, showing off his Wolves Player of the Month award for November, captioned: “The only thing I can say is thank you. You will always have my best.”
However, eagle-eyed fans have spotted a comment from a fan who has received a like from the man himself.
The comment in question comes from user @moha.j00 commenting: “Manchester united soon”.
Cunha’s acknowledgement of the comment has understandably added another twist to the tale of his potential transfer to Old Trafford.
