Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford is the centre of attention at Old Trafford, especially after his recent comments about leaving the club.
Last week it was announced that United were looking to sell their academy graduate to generate funds for transfers as well as relieve financial pressures on the club.
Then it emerged that this wasn’t the whole story, with the club concerned about the player’s lifestyle, having other factors affecting his on-field performances.
With Rashford dropped from the squad for the Manchester Derby and United winning 2-1 thanks to an incredible display from Amad Diallo, Ruben Amorim commented: “When we want to change a lot, when people are losing jobs, we have to put standards really high. Today proved we can leave anyone out if you play together.”
Responding to being left out of the squad, Rashford commented: “It’s disheartening to be left out of a Derby. It’s disappointing but I’m also someone as I’ve got older I can deal with setbacks. What am I going to do about it? Sit there and cry about it? Or do my best the next time I’m available?”
Whilst Amorim has not closed the door on Rashford’s inclusion in his squad, he wants the attacker to step up and give it his all to fight for his spot.
However, Rashford has now intensified the situation, being interviewed by Henry Winter, commenting: “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps.”

Marcus Rashford could have a chance to restart his career
These comments indicated his desire to leave Old Trafford now after 19 years at the club.
However, these comments have also advanced United’s plans to offload the star.
United in Focus has reported that The Red Devils are now looking at loaning out Marcus Rashford in January as a chance of restarting his career.
This move worked for Mason Greenwood who had a standout half-season with Getafe being awarded their Player of the Season award, and secured him a permanent move to Marseille where he is lighting up Ligue 1.
Jadon Sancho is also enjoying a reset on loan at Chelsea, having grabbed two goals and five assists in 12 games.
With loan moves seemingly working as a fresh start for players struggling to find their previous form, this could be a real option for Rashford to either find his way back into the squad or attract new suitors.
