Manchester United are undergoing a major rebuild under their new manager, with Ruben Amorim keen to implement his 3-4-3 system.

The club secured left wing-back Patrick Dorgu from Lecce in January, but they still lack a reliable option on the right.

Diogo Dalot has struggled to impress in Amorim’s setup.

Sections of the fanbase have voiced concerns over his suitability for the role.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka who was sold under Erik ten Hag, has since been thriving at right wing-back under Graham Potter at West Ham.

According to winwin, United have a strong interest in Joao Cancelo.

The Red Devils believe his experience could be vital in shaping their new-look team.

Red Devils have a ‘strong desire’ to attain his signature, according to winwin’s report.

Currently playing for Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Cancelo has been one of the standout performers in the league this season.

He has made 27 appearances across all competitions, scoring twice and providing 10 assists.

Cancelo originally joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2024 from Manchester City on a three-year deal.

He has since filled the void left by Saud Abdulhamid’s move to Roma.

His offensive and defensive qualities have made him a key player for Jorge Jesus’ side.

This has led to renewed interest from European clubs.

Alongside United, AC Milan and Aston Villa are also monitoring Cancelo’s situation.

Milan, who currently have Kyle Walker on loan from Manchester City, view Cancelo as a potential replacement.

Which could happen, should Milan fail to sign Walker permanently.

Meanwhile, Villa boss Unai Emery is assembling a competitive squad and sees Cancelo as a key piece in his long-term plans.

With a market value of €18 million, the 30-year-old could be a realistic target for United as they continue their summer rebuild.

It would certainly be a shock summer signing if Cancelo goes on to join Ruben Amorim at United.
