Manchester United may have been busy during the summer and before the window closed but they’ve also been utilising the Turkish window still being open.

Perhaps because it is easier to operate in a market where less clubs are competing or it’s easier to prioritise what United need but the Red Devils have been active.

Andre Onana was swiftly shifted to Trabzonspor in something of a surprise move considering he was signed to replace David de Gea.

It appears another player in Sam Mather is now in talks to make a permanent move to Kayerispor.

According to a report in the Manchester Evening News, the United youngster could get a transfer to the Turkish League.

If the move is confirmed United would receive a small transfer fee for Mather and would also insert a buyback clause.

The Turkish transfer window closes on Friday night so there isn’t time remaining.

Mather’s contract expires in the summer of 2027, but Mather is determined to find a place to get regular minutes after his time with the U21’s.

Mather has played left wing during his time for United, but prefers the no 10. position and is said to be looking for a move for regular competitive football.

In the January transfer window, Mather joined Tranmere Rovers indicating his eagerness to play regularly. Unfortunately for the winger, manager Nigel Adkins was sacked a few weeks after he arrived.

Last year, Mather signed a new year three contract after given new terms and was involved in the pre-season tour of the United States.

With little time remaining it remains to be seen whether Mather gets his move but it’s encouraging that the player has the intention and desire to not rest on his laurels and wants move elsewhere where he can play regularly, the history of the player and his moves indicate this.
