West Ham are reportedly set to compete with United for the signing of England international and former Red Devil Angel Gomes.
With his Lille contract expiring this summer, Gomes is reportedly being targeted by Manchester United and West Ham.
In November, reports claimed Ruben Amorim had approved United’s plan to re-sign the midfielder.
However, talkSPORT now suggest West Ham are also pushing to sign Gomes as part of their rebuild under Graham Potter.

Gomes progressed through United’s academy and made his senior debut in 2017 at the age of 16.
Despite his promise, Gomes struggled for regular opportunities under Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He left Old Trafford in 2020 to join Lille on a free transfer, where he has since excelled.
Last season, Gomes recorded the joint-most assists in Ligue 1 and earned his first England caps under Lee Carsley.
His rise to international prominence has sparked speculation about a return to the Premier League.
Gomes has previously expressed openness to returning to Old Trafford, saying: “There’ll always be that sentimental soft spot.
“So of course it’d be difficult to say no.”
