Manchester United have been linked with a new midfield signing this summer as The Red Devils are continuing their rebuild under Ruben Amorim.
Carlos Baleba emerged as the top candidate with the Cameroon international wanting to move to Old Trafford after his impressive spell at Brighton and Hove Albion.
However, nothing emerged for the midfielder, with The Seagulls demanding a record £120 million for their star, seeing United look at alternate options.
This led the United recruitment team to consider the likes of Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume and Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller as other potentials before ultimately deciding against a new signing in the middle of the pitch.
It was deemed that United’s current midfield options are strong enough, especially with the club rejecting a loan request from Kobbie Mainoo.
However, the Red Devils are now once more looking at midfield options, this time for the women’s side.
The Guardian has reported that United are looking to Manchester City’s Jess Park in the hope of signing the England international before the Women’s Super League transfer window closes on Thursday 4th September.
Park was a key part of England’s 2025 Euro winning side, having also helped Manchester City add to their trophy cabinet, winning the FA Cup back in 2020.
Last season saw Jess Park take on a vital role in the City squad, playing 21 of the 22 league games to help them achieve fourth place overall.
Now, United are hoping they can persuade the 23-year-old to move across the city, changing blue for red in their build to continue strengthening an already impressive squad.
