The January transfer window is growing even closer and Manchester United are getting their plans in place.

The Red Devils had an eventful summer signing five top players, with three major offloads in the first transfer window under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s regime.

At the start of the summer, Ratcliffe set out seven stars that were a priority to sell by December.

Whilst Mason Greenwood and Jadon Sancho have departed the club, United have ended up retaining the other five.

However, it’s now been revealed the The Red Devils still have their eyes set on selling one of their attackers.

United’s plan to offload Antony in January

Now, CaughtOffside have reported that United are still firmly set on Antony leaving the club in January.

Previously The Red Devils have only been happy with a permanent deal being agreed, having rejected a loan offer from Real Betis.

However, the report has explained that now, United are even happy to look at a loan deal, showing their desire to offload the winger.

It’s understood that the club are accepting loan offers, seeing this as a more likely way for other clubs to take the star, rather than making a permanent move on the back of his recent run of form.

The Brazilian moved to Old Trafford back in 2022 from Ajax for £80 million (€95 million) from Dutch side, Ajax.

The big-money move came after a standout season, grabbing 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games, winning the Eredivisie league title.

However, his performances at United have yet to live up to the hype, having grabbed 12 goals and five assists in 86 games.

This season, the 24-year-old has made four appearances with one goal, having only made two appearances in seven Premier League games, totalling 27 minutes of match time.

Now however, he may be looking at a return to his former club, with Ajax looking to the star alongside Newcastle United and Crystal Palace.

Antony is set to remain at Old Trafford until 2027, with two and a half years left on his contract, showing that United’s desire to offload him is nothing to do with his contract ending, but more that he is no longer a part of the plans under Erik ten Hag.
