According to Tuttomercatoweb, Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen has emerged as a potential target for the Old Trafford outfit.
The 18-year-old, who joined Bournemouth from Juventus and spent time on loan at Roma, is having a breakout season in the Premier League.
Huijsen’s impressive performances, including a goal in Bournemouth’s shock win at Old Trafford earlier this season, have put him on the radar of several top clubs.
Real Madrid are among the clubs interested.
Former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, who coached Huijsen at Roma, has also spoken highly of the young defender.
Mourinho called him “one of the highest quality prospects in European football at this age level.”
Mourinho’s praise underscores the Dutch defender’s potential, with the Portuguese coach predicting a bright future for Huijsen.
Should United secure his signature, he would join as the fifth centre-back in Ruben Amorim’s squad.
While Bournemouth are likely to resist losing one of their standout players, the lure of playing for United could prove difficult for Huijsen to turn down.
No transfer fee has been reported yet, but any deal for the highly-rated defender would likely surpass the £15.3 million Bournemouth paid to acquire him.
