With the end of the transfer window looming, three things are happening. Clubs are either racing to sign their key targets, pushing to offload their unwanted stars, or panicking and reacting to opportunities coming available.

Thankfully for Manchester United, they don’t appear to be doing the latter with the club still sticking to their guns, not caving to extortionate transfer demands or agreeing to deals that won’t benefit them.

Recently it’s been reported that Juventus are looking to submit their first bid for Jadon Sancho, however it’s looking to be just a loan deal, with United wanting to permanently offload the winger. This difference in preference will no doubt lead to negotiations taking place to see if the gap can be bridged with a loan to buy offer.

However, on the other side of the Sancho coin, negotiations are taking place between Manchester United and Chelsea for two separate deals involving Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell with Sancho going the other way.

On the weekend it was reported that Chelsea were looking at a swap deal with both players put on offer in place of the United winger. However, recent reports suggest that these deals are being discussed as separate transactions to be taken seriously.

Now, reports from The Independent are claiming that United are no longer looking to progress with the availability of Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell was being considered due to the ongoing struggles with injures that United experience at left-back thanks to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia’s considerable absences.

However, The Red Devils have decided to back away from the opportunity, with it being reported that the figures in the deal were too far apart.
