Manchester United could strengthen their attack in January.

Ruben Amorim’s system needs fresh attacking profiles in spark improvement.

Rasmus Hojlund has struggled on and off the pitch, having hit back at accusations made online.

Marcus Rashford is set to depart the club, having been left out of the squad multiple times.

Joshua Zirkzee another, who could be set to leave with links from Italy.

It remains likely that one or two attackers will leave in the upcoming windows.

This would pave the way for an elite attacker to join.

One who Amorim could provide instant faith in, to improve results in the short and long-term.

United’s interest in Viktor Gyokeres over recent months has been no secret.

The links were always bound, considering Amorim’s relationship with the striker.

It was last reported on CentreDevils that United were planning to offload players to fund the Gyokeres purchase.

However, a major boost has since been provided with the striker looking ever so likely to join.

Gyokeres reportedly has a gentleman’s agreement in place that could see the Swedish international leave the club for a fee between around £6o million.

According to Record Portugal, this agreement has been hinted at before, suggesting that Sporting would allow Gyokeres to move for less than his £83m release clause.

That is if he stays until the end of the season.

The 25-year-old has been a key player for Sporting this campaign.

Any move would likely attract significant interest from top European clubs.

Interestingly, Amorim has ruled out signing any players from the Portuguese side during the January transfer window.

However, speculation about a summer move could still gain momentum as the season progresses.

Gyokeres’ potential availability at a reduced fee could make him one of the most sought-after strikers in the upcoming transfer market.
