Manchester United are closing in on their next target, with the Red Devils determined to strengthen their midfield tis summer.
Now, Erik ten Hag’s side are focusing their attentions on Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte.
Ugarte has had an incredible debut campaign for PSG since arriving from Sporting Lisbon last summer for £50 million, making 37 appearances for the club, helping the club to win the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France and the Trophee des Champions, completing the French domestic triple this year.
Not only getting the attention of United, but the 23-year-old’s performances were enough to get called up for the Uruguayan national team at this year’s Copa America in the United States where again, he shone on the pitch in the six games he played.
It’s come to light in recent days that Ugarte has agreed personal terms to join the Red Devils, and now reports on X claim that United are now preparing their initial bid for the midfielder.
Traspasos on X have reported that the Red Devils are prepared to start their negotiations with a bid of €35 million for the 23-year-old, however it’s expected that this initial bid will be rejected by PSG.
It’s unsure as of yet how much the Ligue 1 champions are asking for for the midfielder, however time will tell if this first bid from United will be enough.
Ugarte isn’t United’s only target to strengthen midfielder however, with former PSG star Adrien Rabiot being on their shortlist for some time. It’s now believed that talks around a move to Old Trafford have also been taking place with Rabiot whilst the club agreed terms with Ugarte.
