According to Independent Sport, Manchester United and Chelsea have stepped up talks over a potential Ben Chilwell move to Old Trafford, separate to negotiations over Jadon Sancho and Raheem Sterling.
The report states that the two clubs have been in constant negotiation over the last two days, as both attempt to resolve numerous remaining squad issues in the last 72 hours of the transfer market.

United do need another left-back given Luke Shaw’s persistent injury problems, which have seen manager Erik ten Hag forced to repeatedly experiment or compromise in the position.
This has reportedly seen the Old Trafford hierarchy at least explore the option of whether a deal can be done for Chilwell.
United have started the season with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia injured. The former is set to return next month while the latter will be out till October.
Manchester United have used Diogo Dalot in the left-back position this season, despite the player being a natural right-back.
New signing Noussair Mazraoui, who is also a right-back, can play in the left-back position if needed.
Young player Harry Amass has been promoted after a bright preseason this summer, giving the manager another option for the left-back position.
