So far, this approach seems to be working for the Red Devils with Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro both having joined the club on five year contracts.

Outward bound, we’ve seen United academy graduate Mason Greenwood depart to join French club Marseille, with deals in the works to see both Casemiro and Scott McTominay move on also.

Now however, reports are coming out of United joining both Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers in scouting a new exciting teenager who’s dazzled at the World Cup.

Reports from Frankfurter Rundschau claim that the three Premier League clubs are all interested in 18-year-old Sekou Kone.

The defensive midfielder has manager to stir up alot of interest thanks to his impressive performances for Mali at this winter’s Under-17s World Cup held in Indonesia, helping the squad achieve a third place finish after being defeated 2-1 by France in the Semi-Finals, but beating Argentina 3-0 with the star grabbing an assist in the Third Place Play-off.

This was one of two assists the 18-year-old achieved in the seven games he played in the tournament, with the other coming in Mali’s 5-1 defeat of Canada in the Group Stages which secured their second place finish.

The defensive midfielder was vital part of his team’s success and is considered a potential star of the future.

With a number of European clubs circling, Kone is reportedly looking at a deal to join RedBull Salzburg from his current club in Mali, Guidars FC. This is a move which has been taken by a number before him, including Soumaïla Diabaté, Mamady Diambou, Gaoussou Diakité, Daouda Guindo, Dorgeles Nene and Moussa Yeo.

Although a move to Austria is on the cards, no finalisation of the deal has been reported, meaning that United still have a chance to swoop in and poach the young star.
