Hannibal Mejbri is now officially a former Manchester United player after completing a move to Burnley on a permanent transfer.
The newly relegated club have turned to Hannibal as a replacement for Sander Berge who left for Fulham this summer.
The Tunisian midfielder completed his medical assessment on Monday, with his move bringing £5.4 million to the Red Devils which is set to rise to £9.4 million with add-ons.

However, Manchester Evening News have now reported that United have included a series of vital clauses to ensure they don’t miss out on Hannibal’s future development.
Firstly they’ve included a 50% sell-on clause which is massive for the club, meaning that if Hannibal’s improved match time helps him to progress further, United will still benefit without him being on their books.
However, this percentage is set to decrease over time. Counteracting this though, United have also included a buy-back clause in order to see the star return to Old Trafford if the Red Devils are pleased with his time at Turf Moor.
The third clause included is that of “matching rights”. This essentially means that if any club submit an offer for Hannibal, United have to be informed and are given the option of matching the bid. If they do so, the Red Devils’ bid will take first priority.
It works in a very similar way to “right of first refusal” where a team has the first opportunity to sign a player before any other club.
These three clauses working together allow for the best chance of United to benefit from any further development. However, the latter two conditions paint a very strong picture that although Hannibal has now left the club, he’s not being removed from United’s long term plans.
