Win, and United book their UCL ticket.
Lose, and questions will be asked about the calibre of players they can realistically sign.
Defensively, United are eager to balance youth with leadership.
Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro – both highly rated and thriving, are seen as centre-backs for the future.

Manchester United continue to chase Jonathan Tah
As per The Sunday Mirror, United are growing increasingly confident of winning the race to land the 29-year-old’s signature.
Tah has been a name recently linked to join Ruben Amorim, seen as a fit for the 3-4-3 system.
Newcastle United have joined the hunt for Tah, however.
Although United believe they have the edge due to the defender’s long-standing desire to play in the Premier League.
That ambition could see him turn down interest from Bayern Munich, who are also monitoring his situation closely.
Tah has excelled under Xabi Alonso, having helped Leverkusen to their first-ever Bundesliga title with 48 appearances, four goals, and a run of commanding displays.

His leadership could be vital at Old Trafford.
Especially with Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans both expected to depart when their contracts expire in June.
United are also continuing to monitor Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite, having targeted the young defender last summer.
But experience is becoming the priority.
United believe Jonathan Tah might be the man to lead Amorim’s new-look defence into the next era.
