Manchester United aren’t giving up hope of signing a striker this summer as they continue fighting in the race for Benjamin Sesko.
Newcastle have burst on the scene, trying to secure Sesko as a replacement for Alexander Isak who has expressed his desire to explore leaving St James’ Park this summer.
However, United are determined to rival The Magpies, having already missed out on a significant number of targets.
Liam Delap has gone to Chelsea, Viktor Gyokeres has joined Arsenal and Liverpool won the race for Hugo Ekitike.
As such, United’s pivot to targets such as Sesko as well as Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins are already having to step away from their top targets going into the summer.
United’s stalling around the deal for Bryan Mbeumo and their lack of sales so far has affected the club’s ability to make real waves in the transfer market.
With limited options now available, Benjamin Sesko is one of the final top-quality opportunities of the summer which United still want to fight for.
Florian Plettenberg has reported that The Red Devils are still in talks with Sesko and have presented their project and offers to him and his representatives.
It’s understood that the decision now sits with the striker, with offers to RB Leipzig to come in after a verbal agreement is in place.
