With the start of the Premier League just around the corner, Manchester United’s summer business is starting to ramp up.
Ruben Amorim has already made key additions to his squad, with Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha set to play major roles this season.
But questions remain around United’s attack, particularly with Rasmus Højlund’s long-term role still unclear after an inconsistent last campaign.
The club’s hierarchy is determined to back Amorim with the firepower needed to get United back among the elite, and the manager has made it clear he wants one more striker to lead the line.
One name has stood out all summer – and now the Reds are making their strongest move yet.

Manchester United have officially submitted a €75million plus €10m in add-ons offer for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, signalling their intent to win the battle for one of Europe’s most coveted young forwards, as reported by David Ornstein of The Athletic.
According to German outlet BILD, the offer landed on Leipzig’s table on Tuesday, as United upped the ante in their head-to-head battle with Premier League rivals Newcastle United.
Newcastle United had hoped to land Benjamin Sesko and even made a record-breaking bid of their own, but United’s approach today has flipped the race on its head.
Sesko, who turned 2e earlier this year, has remained tight-lipped publicly, but reports suggest he has privately told both clubs that he is open to joining them – leaving the final decision in his hands.
However, Ornstein now reports that United believe Sesko favours a move to Old Trafford over Newcastle.
He was notably pulled from team training on Tuesday and instead worked individually, further fuelling speculation that a transfer is imminent.
Ruben Amorim has made no secret of his desire to bring in a striker capable of leading the line for years to come, and Sesko is seen as the ideal profile – powerful, athletic, and clinical.
With Leipzig now holding offers from both Premier League giants, all eyes turn to the player himself.
It’s decision time for Sesko – and United have made their move.
