Andre Onana’s debut season at Manchester United has been nothing short of a disaster.
Since arriving from Inter Milan last summer, the Cameroonian goalkeeper has made a string of high-profile mistakes that have cost United crucial points.
His performances in the Champions League were particularly concerning, with errors against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray putting his side in trouble.
He was also arguably at fault for the goals conceded in most recent clash, in a 3-2 win over Ipswich.
A significant portion of the fanbase has lost faith in him, and speculation is growing that United could move for a new No.1 this summer.
Red Devils interested in signing exciting goalkeeper to replace Andre Onana
Now, according to SPORT, the Red Devils have entered the race to sign highly-rated Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
The 23-year-old has been one of the standout shot-stoppers in La Liga this season and is attracting interest from several top European clubs.
Barcelona have been linked with a move.
However, Espanyol have no interest in negotiating with their city rivals.
They will only accept an offer that meets his €30 million release clause.
The Spanish club is, however, willing to negotiate with other interested parties, including Premier League clubs.
Arsenal attempted to sign García last summer but had a bid worth €20 million rejected.

The Gunners remain interested, but Manchester United have now made contact over a potential deal.
PSG have also been linked, but Espanyol are yet to receive any official approach from the French champions.
With Garcia’s stock continuing to rise and a potential call-up to the Spanish national team on the horizon, competition for his signature is only expected to increase.
Espanyol are eager to create a bidding war to secure the highest possible fee.
This would allow them to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window.
United’s goalkeeping situation remains uncertain.
However, Joan Garcia is now firmly on their radar as they weigh up potential replacements for Onana.
